The killer had allegedly borrowed RM300 from his friend before murdering him.

Sometimes when we’re a little short on cash, we will ask our friends to spot us. Sometimes we may forget to pay them back.

In an extreme case in Malaysia, a man had allegedly borrowed RM300 (S$100) from his friend and did not pay him back, and ended up killing him when he asked for his money back.

When his friend, 30-year-old Fazrin Ibrahim, asked for his RM300 back, he did not expect to lose his life. The assault took place in Kota Kinabalu in East Malaysia.

Fazrin had allegedly died on the spot due to excessive bleeding after being slashed in his neck with a parang. Fazrin’s 11-year-old brother-in-law, who was with him at the time of the incident, was injured in the assault.

It is believed that the suspect attacked Fazrin from behind while sitting in the back seat of the Perodua Axia, which was being driven by the victim, reported Utusan Online.

Lahad Datu OCPD ACP Hamza Ahmad was quoted by The Star Online saying that the suspect is believed to have killed Fazrin after he had asked him to return an RM300 loan.

According to ACP Hamza, Fazrin was taking his brother-in-law home from school and had stopped to pick up the suspect along the way.

Both the suspect and the brother-in-law were seated at the back of the car. After the attack, Fazrin and his brother-in-law attempted to escape but couldn’t get far as Fazrin was severely injured and had quickly bled out.

Passers-by heard the 11-year-old’s screams for help and took them both to a hospital. But upon arrival at the hospital, Fazrin was pronounced dead.

The 11-year-old is, meanwhile, being treated for injuries to his hands.
