Ever wondered how much influencers make with their sponsored posts? The answers may shock you.
Love them or hate them, you can’t deny the influence of the Kardashians, especially on social media. Kim Kardashian, who has been called the Mother of Influence, has shilled everything from hair growth vitamins to waist trainers to energy drinks. There isn’t much data on how her endorsements have translated to sales, but with over 100 million followers on Instagram, it’s safe to say that her seal of approval holds a lot of power.
That being said, have you ever wondered how much these celebrity influencers charge to endorse a product? According to an infographic by XCart, Kim K makes US$500,000 per post.
Yup, you read that right. 500,000. American dollars. Per. Post.
And she isn’t even the highest earner. Selena Gomez, who has the most followed account on Instagram (at 128 million followers), charges a whopping US$550,000.
While you’re picking up your jaws from the floor, take a look at this portion of the infographic:
Why do most influencers use Instagram?
After surveying 300 influencers, Adweek found that 91.9% use Instagram as their #1 platform. Why?
For one thing, the platform’s growth is unmatched—its global active monthly users have increased by 357% since 2014. Facebook and YouTube have grown by only 57% and 50%, respectively.
Instagram is also pretty effective—72% of Instagram users say that they make purchasing decisions based on what they’ve seen on the platform. It’s no wonder that brands have spent US$1.1 billion on Instagram influencer advertising in this year alone!
