If you’re the type to make new year’s resolutions, we’re sure one of them is to lose weight. If so, here are some tips to help.
There are two types of people in this world: those who love to exercise and those who don’t. If you fall under the first category of people, then you know maintaining your weight is possible throughout the year.
For those who happen to fall under the latter category, weight management may not be as easy.
But we have good news. As many experts and trainers will tell you, exercising is just part of the weight loss programme!
The rest is dieting or simply controlling your food intake.
Dieting takes up slightly less effort than exercising, in the sense that you just have to change your eating habits rather than actually sweating it out and feeling the post-gym aches.

Home remedies to lose weight fast without exercise:
1. Cut out sugar and starch
If you’ve heard of the keto diet, that’s actually not a bad place to start. The keto diet even encourages you to take in as much good fat as possible while cutting out carbs and sugars. While you can’t eat ice cream and pasta, you CAN eat plenty of bacon.
I’d say that’s not a bad thing especially if you’re trying to start a diet for the first time. If you’re a huge fan of noodles, rice, or potatoes, try cutting that down by half first before cutting it out completely.
2. Up the protein intake
Instead of piling on the carbs at your next buffet, why not try piling it with meat instead? Proteins, which include chicken, fish, beef and even tofu (for the vegans), can increase the feeling of fullness and you end up eating fewer calories! Replace your toast or cereal with some eggs for breakfast and it’s a good start!
3. Hide all the snacks
If you’re around unhealthy snacks all the time, you will feel the cravings for it more often. Keep these out of sight, or better still, don’t have any in your home and you won’t find yourself reaching for it and consuming empty calories throughout the day. Instead, replace your snack food with something healthy like fruits or granola.
4. Drink water
You would be surprised how much drinking water can make a difference. Half the time when you think you’re hungry during the day, you might actually just be thirsty. The next time you’re feeling a little hungry in the afternoon, try gulping down a glass of water or two before reaching for the cookie jar. You can even add some fruits to the water to give it a little flavour. It’s so much better for you than a fizzy soda.
5. Serve yourself smaller portions
Portion control is actually a brilliant way to start losing weight. When you start cutting your intake by half, your weight will also go down. Perhaps, start by eating three-quarters of your usual meal. Then cut that down to half. Eat smaller portions but more healthy meals throughout the day.
